ILMC 27 provisional agenda released!

The ILMC 27 agenda is now live online, and with the new conference schedule in place, this year sees more sessions than ever. With a new workshop schedule and panel formats, it’s a blockbuster of an agenda. The full panel descriptions are all online, but in the meantime, here’s a quick rundown:


Kicking off the conference schedule at 10:00hrs is the New Delegates' Orientation for first-timers at ILMC, and the opening workshop YouTube: Music discovery and live streaming.
ILMC’s first main session, The Open Forum: The directors’ report sees Belgian promoter Herman Schueremans take the hot seat this year, welcoming an all-star cast that includes AEG Live president and co-CEO John Meglen and Solo Agency head John Giddings, as well as FKP Scorpio CEO Folkert Koopmans, DEAG CEO Peter Schwenkow and Russell Warby of William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. Reviewing the key topics in the business over the last 12 months, and looking at the year ahead, the session sets the tone of the conference....

Friday afternoon session Festival Forum: The indestructibles? asks whether the festival market has peaked; Market Focus: Latin America looks at this fascinating touring region; Sponsorship: Up, Up & Away? considers new models for brand partnerships; and The Dance Club: All sold out? examines the current state of the dance market. 

Main-room session The Joined-up Industry: Artist development matters looks at new collaborative business models for breaking bands, while workshops Festivalisation: Giving your event a soul, andFacebook: Making more of social media continue the programme.

Saturday kicks off with The Emerging Markets Place: Heroes & villains, and The Venue’s Venue: Fortresses of solitude, which looks at new content and partnerships for venues.
Corporatisation: The masters of the universe examines the ongoing effect of corporatisation on live music, while New Technology: Jet packs & super gadgets presents quick-fire presentations of the hottest new innovations about. Touring Exhibitions: Exploring new worlds looks at this compelling new alternative market, while Ticketing: presales & resales gets into everything but primary income.
Festival Income: Fields of green highlights new revenue streams for festival organisers, and Saturday wraps up with Industry Out-takes: It’ll be alright on the night for a few road stories and touring tales of what happens when things go wrong.
Saturday’s workshops include Location Data & iBeaconSafeguarding the music venue; Touring and taxation, and The 10 Commandments for production heaven.

Sunday morning gets underway with the hotly anticipated Breakfast Meeting with Arthur Fogel as Ed Bicknell interviews Live Nation’s chairman of global music and president of global touring. With Fogel having worked with the likes of U2, Madonna, Lady Gaga, The Police, David Bowie, Neil Young, Beyoncé and Rihanna, this looks to be a standing room only session and therefore early arrival is advised.
Later on Sunday, The Booking Ring: Live music crime-fighting looks at changing roles, and questions a lack of spontaneity in the industry, while The Unconference Session: A lotto topics leaves it all to fate and the quick thinking of assembled guests. Finally, The ILMC 27 Autopsyfeedback session wraps up the weekend.
