The relationship with the ticket buyer no longer starts and stops at the point of purchase and increasingly continues in the run-up to any event. But new technology is allowing that relationship to go much further, deep into the venue or site. Technologies including iBeacon have scored some impressive early results in the live arena. So much so that some major ticket companies are already offering location-based solutions. Dan Brown and James Cobb explain what new data and understanding these developments are driving, and discuss how it might change the relationship with the fan in the future.

About Dan Brown:
Daniel spent the formative period of his career working within the automotive sector in various Marketing and CRM roles for Lotus, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Land Rover. From 2007, Daniel worked in Leverkusen, Germany as the Head of CRM & Digital for Mazda Motor Europe GmbH.
In September 2011, a career change beckoned and Daniel made the decision to move back to the UK and join Ogilvy as a Principal CRM, Digital & Data Consultant working for both OgilvyOne and OgilvyAction. He worked as a Lead Consultant on various blue chip clients including British Airways, British Gas, IBM, Phillips and UBS.
Daniel joined AEG Worldwide in September 2012 as the Director of CRM responsible for CRM across all AEG Europe Business Entities, with a focus on effective in-venue utilisation of insight and data.
In November 2014, Daniel joined AXS, a joint Aeg / Cirque du Soleil company, as VP of Marketing and Digital Services.  Along with responsibility for marketing for AXS, Daniel also works closely with venues to get the best out of their CRM system combined with app, iBeacon, geo fencing and website technology.

About James Cobb:
James Cobb is founder and CEO of Crowd Connected Ltd. He has worked in the live music and event sector for over 20 years, starting out as a concert tour production manager.

He has been a director of a successful music festival, a text-messaging technology company, a stage lighting company and a live event safety consultancy practice. He previously chaired the Production Services Association.
