Ticketing: Presales & resales
Saturday 7 March 2015
15:30 – 16:30
Chair: John Langford, SEC Ltd (UK)
ILMC’s ticketing panels are always among the most popular – and the most contentious. And this year should be no different with a session that will explore the myriad presale opportunities that now exist for the likes of ticketing companies, promoters, brands, sponsors and fan clubs – and, of course, the challenges and issues that such presale offers entail. With John Langford presiding over a panel of some of the industry’s most opinionated individuals, there will be a need for some strong-willed superheroes in the room as we also prise open that perennial can of worms: resales… Don’t make him angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.
Guest speakers include:
Andrew Parsons, Ticketmaster (UK)
Nuala Donnelly, The O2 (UK)
Todd Sims, AXS (US)
Peter Briffett, YPlan (UK)
Neo Sala, Doctor Music (ES)

As a consequence of Peter Duthie moving to Chief Executive, John has assumed a wider responsibility, which now includes Sponsorship/Partnerships, Corporate Hospitality and Marketing under the broader title of Live Entertainment.
John’s key role in the SECC is to develop strategies and manage plans that drive revenue in the live entertainment sector across all SECC venues. Prior to this, he worked in radio management at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (equivalent to the BBC).
John lives with his wife Lieze, and their two children (Nina and Michael) in the leafy countryside hamlet of Quarriers Village in Inverclyde. They love travelling and getting outside at the smallest promise of sunshine – usually in the family’s 1966 MGB, or on a Stand Up Paddleboard.
