Presenting two of Europe’s best known and most successful promoters, the first Dragons’ Den mentoring session of ILMC 27 promises to be a lively session indeed. Live Nation Spain chairman Pino Sagliocco and Jackie Lombard, head of Inter Concerts in France, discuss a lifetime at the top of their respective markets and impart a few tricks of the trade. Expect 60 minutes of insight and expertise from two of Europe’s most respected professionals.
Please note that these mentoring sessions have a strict capacity, and seats are issued on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s advisable to arrive early.
About Pino Sagliocco:
Pino Saglioccoestablished himself in Spain in 1980 and since then his extensive and successful career has focused on cultural promotion and on large-scale events, concerts and shows.
Among numerous projects, a highlight is the executive production of the Festival La Nit in 1988, commissioned by the Barcelona 92 Olympic Organizing Committee, celebrating the arrival of the Olympic flag in Barcelona.
The high point was the official presentation of the song Barcelona interpreted by the memorable duet of Montserrat Caballé and Freddy Mercury, which came to life as a result of Pino’s idea to fuse both styles and artists.
The show was broadcast in 23 countries and was awarded the gold medal in the 32nd edition of the New York International Film & TV Festival.
One of his first TV productions was Ibiza '92, the international pop music festival organised annually from 1987 to 1990 in Ibiza’s famous nightclub Ku and broadcast live internationally with more than 500 million viewers around the globe.
In March 2002, after 22 years of professional rivalry, Pino joined forces with Group Gamerco under the title Troubleshooter Inc, which since its foundation has presented artists such as Luis Miguel, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz, Iron Maiden, Paul McCartney, Björk, and Beyoncé.
These artists adding to the list already brought to Spain by Pino in more than two decades of professional activity, with tours including Queen, Rod Stewart, Sade, Frank Zappa, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, David Bowie, Guns N' Roses, Jean Michel Jarre, Frank Sinatra, Elton John, Prince, Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Glory Estefan, Luis Miguel and Ricky Martin.
About Jackie Lombard:
Jackie Lombard Started her career in entertainment as an actress, having moved from Israel to Paris at the age of 14, in order to learn French.
However, in 1979 she started promoting and producing concerts in France. Her first real success was with Neil Diamond and since then she went on to promote major acts including Queen The Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Beyonce, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Depeche Mode, and Roger Waters.
With the help of mentors and friends Barrie Marshall and family, she presented George Michael's first tour, and followed that up with Tina Turner, Lionel Ritchie, Whitney Houston, Pink, Paul McCartney, and Joe Cocker. She will never forget her involvement in LIVE8 thanks to Bob Geldof and Harvey Goldsmith.
In 2007, Jackie opened up the Live Nation office in France, resigning after 3 years to return to work under the name of Inter Concerts, the Company she started in 1985.
This year has already got off to a great start with the surprise success of the musical Dirty Dancing which has scored the number one box office return in France, with over 400,000 tickets sold.
